Please tell us how you came to Japan.
I am from China, and after graduating from university, I worked at the Chinese branch of a major Japanese electronics manufacturer. At that time, many people around me had studied in Japan, and I admired being able to speak Japanese also. So I applied to study abroad to learn Japanese. Before I knew it, I was already in Japan.
How did you become interested in the GxP group?
After studying Japanese in Japan, I studied illustration at a design school. I attended a company information session of the GxP Group through a referral from a teacher at the vocational school, and since it matched what I wanted to do, I applied for an interview.
The decisive factor in joining the company was that I was attracted to the personality of the interviewers at that time. I thought it was amazing that they didn’t have any resistance to foreigners and were so welcoming (laughs). I strongly thought, “I want to work near these people!”
What is your current task?
I develop websites for customers with a CMS called Drupal. There are many projects for large-scale sites of large companies. I am glad to have more opportunities to participate in the meetings for these larger projects.
What do you think is the fun in your work?
I believe that work is equal to training.
When I say “training,” It’s not the hard kind of training.
Precisely because I’m a part of a company, I can be involved in big projects, connect with different people, and learn other skills by coming into contact with various technologies for different projects. That’s when I realize what I’m currently lacking and good at.
As I further develop my skills, I will contribute more to the company, which will also allow me to participate in even more interesting projects at the company. I think it’s the best win-win situation.
What makes you feel good about joining the GxP Group?
I feel lucky to be able to work as a team. There is a limit to what one person can do, but anything is possible as a team.
I have been with the company for five years now, and I gained many valuable experiences within the team. I feel like I have grown and changed a lot during this time.
Another good thing is welfare. The benefits given by GxP Group are incredible! I am grateful for the company dormitory, lunch boxes, and free drinks.
Do you have any dreams or goals for the future?
I’m aiming for a career path provided by the company, but from my experience so far, I think that idea that I suddenly came up with and started doing has the most impact on my life. So, I think the possibilities are infinite if there is a chance. I want to keep moving forward without setting a specific goal or setting limits.
Finally, please give a message to all the job-hunting students who are interested in the GxP group.
I think the GxP Group is a place that can provide the perfect environment. Take advantage of this environment and explore the possibilities in your life.
Communication & Collaboration
My favorite GxP Way changes every year, but my favorite this year is Communication & Collaboration.
I like to improve my communication skills because I have more communication inside and outside the company. And I started thinking about how to act to make the project successful.
